More than 85 countries in 34 states have produced at least 210 types of cluster munitions. At least 59 companies continue to manufacture them and promote cluster munitions and cluster munitions systems. Half are based in Europe and 8 in the United States.

 

- 77 nations stock cluster munitions in their arsenals.
The US alone has over 700 millions! Given the size of the stocks held by these countries, it is legitimate to conclude that if all these cluster munitions were used, the resulting carnage would be comparable with that caused by landmines.

- 18 countries or armed groups use or have used cluster bombs since 1965

- 31 countries are still polluted by cluster munitions today.
